37 Seniors Honored at Completer's Luncheon




On Monday, May 20, 37 Burke Middle High School seniors were recognized for
completion of a Career and Technology Education major. Majors include Culinary
Arts, Health Science and Business and Information Management. The completers
received special cords to wear during graduation and enjoyed a catered lunch.

Senior Rae-Nessha White Receives Service Above Self Scholarship

On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, The Rotary Club of Charleston honored Burke Middle
High School Senior Rae-Nessha White for her outstanding academics and community
service. Rae-Nessha received the $1000 Service Above Self Scholarship.
Rae-Nessha will be attending Clemson Univerisity in the fall and will be
pursuing pre-medical studies. Congratulations Rae-Nessha!
The Ladies and Gentleman's Club Induction


Congratulations to the members of the Ladies and Gentlemen's Clubs on completing their first year. Members had their induction ceremony on Monday, May 13 at High Cotton.
Students Attend ACE Banquet

Students who participate in the ACE (Architecture, Construction and
Engineering) Mentors program attended the annual awards banquet on Friday, May
10. Students presented on a career in one of the three areas and received
recognition for their accomplishments throughout the year in the program.
Congratulations to Tykeim Felder for winning a $1,000 scholarship from the ACE
Mentors!
Middle School Students Get Excited About Taking the PASS Exam

On Monday, May 6, 7th and 8th graders participated in a pep rally to get ready for their PASS exams. Students competed in a relay race where they answered PASS Prep questions and other obstacles. They were also cheered on by the drum line.
